Construction
Having recently joined the Ferretti group (read also our article), certain Itama models have been given a new, updated look by Ferretti’s designers, but when it comes to the Itama 55, the original brand’s spirit and style remain intact.

Above deck
The Itama 55 is quite simply the epitome of elegance. Her breathtaking lines, elongated bow and streamlined, smoked windshield are superb and the overall silhouette is so smooth that at first sight the access to the fore sundeck seems invisible. At the stern, the impressive teak bathing platform on hydraulic jacks can be used to effortlessly launch a tender, with access from the platform to the cockpit passing by a large sundeck to starboard. In the centre of the cockpit lies an on-deck saloon facing a small galley. The helmstation is well positioned behind the windshield, with two benchseats on either side of the boat and a magnificent dashboard, at once futuristic and retro, and a beautifully designed helm.

Below deck
The Itama 55 may be beautiful on the outside, she is none the less stunning below deck. A successful combination of light and dark woods, chrome and stainless steel creates a highly contemporary feel and the impeccable finishings give a kind of understated elegance and efficiency. The owner’s cabin is in the bow, with the guest cabins in the centre of the boat on either side of the companionway: a double berth to starboard and twin berths to port. Each cabin has its own bathroom. In between the guest cabins and the owner’s cabin is a well-designed and nicely equipped galley and a large saloon.

Engines
To propel all 19 metres and 25 tons of the Itama 55, the manufacturer has opted for twin 1100 hp Man engines, generating peak speeds of 40 knots according to Itama’s own test results.
