Grand Soleil 45 : Cruiser / Racer

Cantiere-del-Pardo-Grand-Soleil-45Construction.

The Grand Soleil range from the Cantiere del Pardo shipyard has an outstanding reputation. The Grand Soleil 45 is no exception. Like its predecessors, it offers high performance for both racing and cruising. The new version of the Grand Soleil first presented in 2003 (there was another 45′ model designed in 1988 by the rchitect German Frers) was designed by Judel & Vrolijk. This design office has an excellent knowledge of racers, and worked on the last America’s Cup winner, “Alinghi”.

Deck.

The deck is functional and comfortable: all lines run underneath the deck, which is equipped with handrails. The single-helm cockpit is roomy and the catwalks are uncluttered. The helmsman has excellent visibility and always has plenty of support.

Interior.

The companionway leads down to a U-shaped galley on the port side, opposite a large chart table next to the toilet/bathroom. The saloon is comfortable, with two bench seats and a mahogany table. The master cabin in the bow is spacious and has its own toilet. There are two adjoining double cabins in the stern for passengers. Interior design by Patrick Roseo.

Fitted with a 40 hp diesel engine, this boat’s main characteristics are performance and comfort,  reminiscent of Scandinavian construction.
