Bavaria 42 Match : Fast and functional

Bavaria-42-MatchConstruction.

Initially presented to the public at the 2004 Grand Pavois International Boat Show in La Rochelle, the Bavaria 42 Match is also available as a 35 or 38-footer. As the name Match implies, this boat is designed for offshore racing, and is German shipyard Bavaria Yachtbau’s flagship model, produced with the help of J&J Design.

Deck.

The deck is naturally designed and equipped for manoeuvrability, with an elongated hull and functional cockpit. Sail area is 114m² for a weight of 7.4 tons and a draught of 2.15 m,
offering high performance in all competitions types, from regattas to match racing.

Interior.

The companionway is relatively narrow, leading down to the chart table on the starboard side opposite the bathroom. The mahogany saloon contains an open-plan galley. There is a large double cabin in the bow and two other cabins in the stern. All in all, a very conventional yet comfortable interior.

The Bavaria 42 Match is equipped with a 29 hp Volvo diesel engine, which will certainly prove popular with yachtsmen and racers alike.
