Azimut 68 S: handy and elegant
At first sight, the Azimut 68S shows all the characteristics of the Italian style: an elegant and aggressive line dedicated to the well being of the guests. This new serie of opens proposes consequently an electric opening of the deckhouse as well as a vast sunbath to the back, protected by a wrapping bimini. However, the architects, Righini and Galeazzi, wished to singularise the 68S model by privileging a harmonious distribution of the volumes. Thus, in prolongation of the deck plan, the living room offers a panoramic vision of the sea. Moreover, this ludic dimension does not affect in any case the requirements of safety and movement of the people on board, as testifies the dimension of the handrail.
Regarding the interior, the shipyard made the varied and luxurious material bet. Among the three double cabins, the owner suite, in the centre of the boat, posts exceptional dimensions as well as a beautiful daylight. The crew cabin, accessible from the cockpit, is located at the back port side. The search for originality of the architects is also perceptible in the design of the access to the central gangway and the galley equipped by two joint descents masked by a sliding panel.
The first tests make state of a flexible marine behaviour and reagent at high speed but also for the operations to the port. The lift-off is easy because the boat remains stable with a 360° visibility from the cockpit. Profiting from two 1150 HP MTU engines, the 68S easily exceeds the 35 knots at a peak, without any sign of saturation. Moreover, the fitting of the engines makes it possible to arrange a great space at the back for complementary equipment. Lastly, the pleasure of cruising is reinforced by the judicious choice of the exhaust circuit, significantly reducing noises and vibrations.
