The new Vicem Yachts 100 Cruiser unveiled

Vicem Yachts, Turkish builders of luxury classic motor yachts and mega-yachts, is quickly finishing the build of its newest yacht: the 100’ Cruiser.

The 107 Cruiser is the latest in Vicem’s celebrated series of Classic, Flybridge and Cruiser motor yachts ranging from 50 – 100 feet: the Vintage Line. The new 107 Cruiser epitomizes the three hallmarks of every Vicem yacht: exuding a classic look of timeless design, exemplifying the Vicem ideals for unmatched craftsmanship with a commitment to total customization, and the cold-molded method of construction.

Antonio Caviglia, Vicem Yacht European Sales Director from the new base in Porto Mirabello, La Spezia refers: “the Vintage Cruise 107 will be an outstanding boat to entertain family and friends, with interior and exterior spaces worthy of a 115 footer, including an amazingly large midship, full-beam master cabin, and two extremely spacious VIPs. The giant 70 square meters flybridge is worthy of a +40 metres superyacht. Given all of these attributes, including a very comfortable crew area, as well as Rina Certification, Y Pleasure Class and Malta Commercial Yacht Code certifications, it will also have great charter appeal. Those on board will enjoy the utmost luxury with a quiet and smooth ride afforded only by a cold molded mahogany hull which promise only to enhance the overall exceptional experience.”

“The Vicem 107 Cruiser is an ideal yacht for an owner with a large family or a heck of a lot of friends – says Dave Mallach, Vicem Yachts USA President. “A yacht of this size can accommodate 3 couples with full VIP accommodations and an additional 4 guests in two separate staterooms, providing the discerning yachtsmen an experience that cannot be duplicated on a fiberglass vessel. With a draft of only 6’4” (1.90m), its cruising ability in the Caribbean, as well as in the Mediterranean, will provide an experience only our Flagship Vintage model can bestow on those aboard. We are very proud to introduce the Vicem 100 on our 20th Anniversary. It is a true testament to Vicem’s capabilities.”

A mighty and powerful looking yacht with a “double crème shade” of unrivaled prestige like its “older sister”, the 78 Cruiser – one of the 2010 Vicem successes. The Yard’s strengths are again utilized in this boat: it’s the highly specialized workforce, its obsession with wood and stainless steel craftsmanship that comes close to perfection, the engineering resources necessary for the development of its V type hard chine semi-displacement hull. And last but not least this superyacht maintains the Yard’s DNA in custom or semi-custom production with a quality to price ratio that can only be found in Turkey.

The standard version comes with 5 cabins for 10 guests, an “over sized” U-shape Gaggenau kitchen, king size bed in the full-beam master cabin and in the Vip cabin. Two further guest cabins propose a queen-size and a twin-bed double solution. The crew area is another sign of distinctiveness: 3 cabins (2 singles and one double) with private toilets, double access and laundry and private area”.

The Vicem 107 contemporary twists are complemented by an updated exterior, and shows all its cruising character: a very high bow with a large and low cockpit to face rough seas for a pleasant and comfortable cruise in any weather. All on-board detail has been handcrafted to the highest standard and expertise: mahogany toe-rail and chromed brass or stainless steel hardware are just an example.

Power arrangements are 2 x CAT C32 1,550HP Marine diesel engines, which allow the 107 Cruiser to reach cruising and maximum speeds of 17 and 21 knots, respectively. The fuel tanks have a capacity of 3,831 gal. 14,500 lt. while the water and holding tanks are 512 gal. – 1,940 lt. and 1,025 gal. – 3,800 lt., respectively.

The cold molded method
The building technique used to create the new 100 is the same used for all Vicem Vintage Line (classic/flybridge 52’ to 75’ – cruiser 78, 92, 107): the cold molded process. A millenary, unique construction technique which embodies all the construction methods of the Turkish historical marine tradition; a modern procedure different from traditional boat building. Based on engineered wood construction, cold-molding uses laminated mahogany (coming from managed forests) and a specific formulated epoxy resin to create the hull, decks and principal superstructures. This results in a stronger and quieter vessel with a smoother ride, with natural insulation from humidity and noise.
