Hanse 531: Power and Quality

Hanse-531Construction.

The German shipyard Hanse on the Baltic Sea presented its flagship at the last Cannes Boat Show. The Hanse 531,  designed by Alinghi architects  Friedrich Judel and Rolf Vrolijk, promises excellent performance at sea. This boat has many unique features which place it in a class of its own.

Deck.

The teak deck is unobstructed thanks to the various lines and blocks (reef pendant, halyard, furler etc.)  running under the coachroof. The mooring cleats and the anchor roller are retractable for best use of space.  Many manoeuvres are automated, such as reefing in the mainsail or jib tacking. At the stern, the bathing platform folds up and closes off the tender stowage area when sailing.

Interior.

The interior accommodation, designed by Birgit Schnaase, can be customised. The 531 can be fitted with 2,  3 or 4 cabins decorated in mahogany or cherry wood, giving very different styles. The saloon can also be  individualised, with a choice of wood, and an L-shaped or straight couch. Similarly, the galley can be L or U-shaped. All cabins have en-suite toilets. Whatever options you choose, the interior is always bright, thanks to the many portholes.

The 100 hp Yanmar diesel engine offers a cruising speed of eight knots.  With such high quality deck fittings, a functional deck, automated manoeuvres and a customisable interior to suit your tastes, the Hanse 531 symbolises the perfection of German construction.
