Nauti but nice

After an 18 month design phase, the Nautitech 44 was unveiled to the public at last autumn’s boat shows. The model has beautiful lines and an elongated coachroof, all designed by architects Alain Mortain and Yannis Mavrikios, who have opted for continuity and irresistibility. Nautitech is now targeting owners planning to make long haul crossings.

Between the 40 and the 47

The Nautitech 44 sits in the middle of the range and has all the ingredients that make it a success. It has two helm stations positioned on either side, a rigid bimini top with opening hood, and a cockpit on the same level as the saloon and which opens onto the aft deck. The living space comes with plenty of clever options. The chart table, toilets and cabins can be adjusted on request, and the standard version is fitted with 12 berths and 4 toilets. In terms of sailing performance, the Mortain and Mavrikios design is a guarantee of excellent sailability in all weathers. Like its predecessors, the Nautitech 44 has a generous sail area with 96 m² of sails for an overall length of 13.47 m and 12.20m at the waterline.

New target

Whilst it carries all of the brand’s distinctive features, the Nautitech 44 also introduces new aspects for added comfort. The U-shaped galley opens on to the cockpit and is very functional, and the chart table is large enough for a laptop. An “owner’s version” of the Nautitech 44 is also available, with one of the two hulls becoming a private suite with large cabin aft, a passageway / saloon and a bathroom with separate shower. The “Exclusive” finishing option adds even more elegance and comfort on board, with teak woodwork, Alcantara upholstery and lots of additional creature comforts. At the Paris Boat Show, the model was presented with an attractive plum-coloured hull. The manufacturer is now deliberately seeking to attract long-haul sailors, although the silhouette and the comfortable living space are sure to win over charter companies too, something that Nautitech’s planned 50-footer is also likely to achieve in the future.
