Harmony Yachts will launch in early 2008 a new 16 m sailyacht designed exclusively for a couple of owners who love to live aboard and to sail short-handed but who are also keen that their children or a couple of friends invited onboard enjoy their own space.

The Harmony 16 will be unveiled at Paris-London-Düsseldorf boatshows through virtual visits; the furniture inspired by Art Deco style, as initiated onboard the French transatlantic liners of the Thirties, will be exhibited on the stand.

Even more than the interior design, the unique layout ranks the Harmony 16 in a class of her own : separate but communicating areas are dedicated to different functions and times; in particular, a guenuine lounge with a L-shape sofa facing a canapé, between the living-room and the forward owners’ suite.
The hull and deck structure has been formulated to spread the loads and release some strain on the center bulkhead which can be opened. This is providing a much longer field of vision and is enhancing the benefit of this specific layout with a transition between daytime and night time spaces.
When sailing, at mooring or when the stem is facing the dock, the owners can use the aft port cabin with its bathroom.
The starboard room, featuring a hanging locker for weather gear and wet suits and an adjustable and foldable nav berth, is mainly a technical volume to store a workbench, a washing machine, a bike…
The eco-friendly spirit is also instrumental in this project where systems have been engineered to cut dramatically the waste of fresh water and power in order to offer a wider range at even comfort.

With several transatlantic passages since her launching by mid 2007, the Harmony 52-5 has proved an easy, fast and seaworthy yacht in all conditions; her classic and well-balanced hull will be used for the Harmony 16 with a deeper keel and a different rig and deck layout.
