A new version of the open cruiser, with a superb hard-top

Construction
The Italian company Sessa Marine celebrates the arrival of 2007 with its new C42 Hard-Top, a high-end,13-metre model that joins its predecessor, the C52, in the “Cruiser Line” series.

Above deck
The C 42 may not sound like anything new, but the new Hard-Top label is a giveaway that there is a big difference between this new model and its predecessor of the same name. First of all, the C42 HT comes with a superb hard top with electronic controls, which folds back to let plenty of light into the cockpit. There is a lot of teak on the cruiser’s deck, and a large, comfortable aft sundeck with a very practical tender stowage area. There is another sundeck forward of the windshield, accessible via the side catwalks, which are protected by high guardrails. There is a comfortable saloon under the hard-top, facing the well-designed pilot house. The cream coloured upholstery, similar to the C52, is a deliberate choice by the manufacturer to position this new cruiser on the high-end market.

Below deck
Although the C42 Hard-Top hull is identical to the Open version, the look and feel below deck is entirely different. This model contains the same high-quality materials as the C52, for that extra touch of luxury. There are two large double cabins on board, each with their own private shower rooms. The two cabins are separated by a galley with stainless steel fittings and a comfortable, convertible saloon. The choice of light coloured woodwork and fabrics for the beds and walls creates a bright, cosy atmosphere. The C42 Hard-Top clearly opts for a highly contemporary style.

Engines
Sessa Marine offers one engine configuration for this cruiser, which comes with two 310 hp Volvo engines, achieving a maximum speed of 38 knots.
