08/2008 –

Jongert has signed a new contract with a Dutch client to build a 41-metre semi-displacement motor yacht Freule. Combining classic lines with fast passage making, Freule will be the second yacht to be built based upon a proven 39-metre motor yacht design. This new order further reinforces the renewed confidence in Jongert after the recent participation of investment company Value Enhancement Partners.

This project supports Jongert’s vision to build yachts on the basis of a proven underbody tailored to the owner’s taste and requirements. It also demonstrates Jongert’s position as a builder of large custom motor yachts. Freule will be built to RINA classification and be fully MCA compliant. Construction will start in 2008 and the yacht is scheduled for completion by mid-2010.

Her elegant exterior has been designed by Cor D. Rover, while Azure Naval Architects will be responsible for the naval architecture. Freule‘s interior design will be from the board of Erik van Dongen from SDSI and offers a classical style. An exceptionally spacious layout will feature a split-level owner’s stateroom on the forward main deck with panoramic sea view and four guest suites, all with ensuite facilities. A further four ensuite cabins offer fine accommodation for eight crew members.

Jongert re-entered the motor yacht market in 2006 fully exploiting the possibilities of the Dutch yard’s state-of-the-art facilities. Although world renowned for its sailing yachts, the origins of the Jongert yard can be traced back to the motor yachts it started building in 1953. Today Jongert builds custom and semi-custom sailing and motor yachts from 27 to 60 metres in aluminium or steel.
